表演的科學精神

Truly Lin (Lin Chunju, 1985) is an interdisciplinary live artist from Taiwan. Initially majoring in medicine, she soon realized that she wanted to explore humanity in a more expressive way and began experimenting with theatrical performances. After graduating, she went to the UK to study theatre directing at East 15 Acting School, where she participated in an exchange program at the Russian Institute of Theatre Arts (GITIS) in Moscow, which sparked her interest in intuitive and symbolic approaches in contemporary theatre.

Since 2014, Lin has been involved in productions in China, while also developing her own work. One of her key projects, Lonely TWOgether (2017-2018), experimented with text-based improvisation, where two separate actor groups devised parallel performances before merging in a final spontaneous interaction.

The pandemic marked a shift in Lin’s journey, as she immersed herself in the Meisner Technique, solidifying her intuitive approach to performance. Since 2022, she has incorporated objects, sound, and somatic memory in her creative process, transforming internal states into physical expression. Lin’s approach taps into both psychological and philosophical insights and connects the personal with the universal. Her performances invite the audience into a reflective space, where they witness and engage with the complexities of existence.
