Originally imagined as a bar performance, Century Egg Universe featured the artist as a mystical gem seller who presented century eggs as healing stones. Though the show didn’t take place, the photos taken during its preparation sparked a new creative project.

Since 2022, the artist has been documenting century eggs on Instagram, using a phone and everyday objects to create surreal, poetic images. Each post is titled through intuition, reimagining the egg as a planet, a mineral, or whatever comes to mind—just like her performances, which follow instinct and emotion to shift perspectives.

The project has since expanded into real-world events, including a photo exhibit (Century Egg Medical Atlas) at a clinic and an interactive workshop (Century Egg Gemology) at 2023 Open Taipei. Participants are invited to see century eggs in a new light and create their own gem-like portraits. Collaborations with other artists, such as bio-artist Mia and Douhua Lab, continue to grow this imaginative universe.
